Applied Physics/Medical Physics PhD student, Diego Hernandez, earned 1st place at the Florida chapter of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine student research presentation competition, and will move on to represent the Florida chapter at the national meeting for an associated student/trainee competition this summer in Washington DC. His current work is entitled 鈥淚mpact of Translucent Sheet Bolus and Melanin Concentration on Recorded Optical Signal During Cherenkov Imaging in External Beam Radiation Therapy.鈥
The Department of Physics and the Medical Physics program was also represented at the regional chapter meeting by PhD students Jake Moriarty, Caleb Sawyer, and Funmi Fajemisin.
